MISSION STATEMENT
Our Mission is to develop and propagate the most exotic varieties in the world.
We are one of the leading blueberry breeders and nurseries in the nation.
We begin breeding the cultivars with growers in mind. Our process begins with approximately 15,000 blueberry plants. We conduct thorough evaluations of each plant considering features such as texture, flavor, pressures, sugar bricks, shelf life, and consumer appeal. After this rigorous process, we identify genetic parents that will produce the best plants for growers. Our innovative and exotic blueberry varietals are bred for grower success.
Using an experience-backed breeding process, our berries are machine harvest friendly, fast-growing, durable and boast an intensely appealing appearance and flavor. We supply our partners with the foundation for successful growing, harvesting, packing, and selling.

California Blueberry Nursery
- Family Farming Roots: Greg and Monica both come from deep family-farming backgrounds, which have influenced their approach and commitment to agriculture at California Blueberrerry Nursery.
- Inspiration and Early Ventures: Greg attended Fresno State University, majoring in Plant Science with a minor in Agricultural Business. During his senior year, a professor suggested that blueberries could thrive in the San Joaquin Valley and provide fresh berries in the spring. Motivated by this idea, Greg leased seven acres and planted various blueberry varieties, marking the beginning of his journey in blueberry cultivation.
- Expansion and Specialization: After college, Greg pursued his goal of becoming one of California’s leading blueberry shippers. Within a few years, he discovered the nuanced “art” of growing quality blueberries, gaining insights into plant cultivation and fruit production. Greg has since accumulated over 25 years of experience growing Southern Highbush blueberries and has traveled globally in search of innovative varieties, becoming a pioneer in the field.
- Expertise Across the Supply Chain: Greg’s experience spans the entire blueberry supply chain, including growing, selling, packaging, and shipping, making CBN a comprehensive resource for blueberry production.
